Faces in a London Crowd – New Artist Exhibition Opens
South London based artist Ella Phillips has joined forces with popular band, King Salami, to open an exhibition, 'Faces in the Crowd', at the Gallery Café, Old Ford Road on Saturday July 2. Providing a snapshot of London life as seen through the eyes of the artist, the paintings explore some of the key factors of life in the city.  Her fascination with the variety of characters that make up crowd scenes in London prompted a series of paintings called 'In the Crowd', first inspired by the Rise Festival. She has developed this technique to form the body of work, 'Faces in the Crowd'.  The band, King Salami, personify the diversity of people in the capital, comprising of two Frenchmen, an English man and a Japanese rocker. The night promises to be one of art, dancing and toe tapping Rhythm & Blues.
