We need your help to make our new Resource Centre totally GREEN. As a Community Anchor, St Margaret's House is committed to sustainable development and if you have any expertise or knowledge of green builds, or you feel that you can make a positive contribution then don't wait to get in touch.

St. Margarets House Settlement was established in Bethnal Green in 1889. Currently, St Margaret's House provides accomodation for more than 30 voluntary and community groups, supporting a wide range of needs.
The proposed Community Resource Centre would be built approximately on the footprints of two existing buildings to the rear of the settlement. Both of which need demolishing.
The new centre, on three stories, would serve local and wider communities in many ways including:

  • The ground floor will offer drop-in day-care facilities and flexible community space.
  • The first floor will provide training space for local, volutary, community and statutory groups.
  • The top floor (and across to the adjoining building on 15 Old Ford Road) will provide much needed office accomodation for voluntary office and community groups.

The following are an artist's rendering of the future resource center. As you can see, the new development not only improves the facilities at St. Margarets, it greatly enhances the appearance from within the rounds of the house.
