Volunteering
Volunteer at St Margaret's House and do something worthwhile in Bethnal Green.
We have an ongoing need for volunteers in all areas across St Margaret's House. Sometimes a post will require a specialist skill, sometimes it will simply need someone who has heaps of enthusiasm.
There are lots of areas of St Margaret's House that could benefit from your time and experience. The sorts of roles which volunteers are currently involved in include:
- helping in the cafe both front of house and in the kitchen
- helping with the day-to-day running of our charity shop
- assisting with one of our exciting arts and crafts workshops
- helping out with admin duties in our busy front office
- helping to organise fund raising events
It may be a full time post over several months or it may be short-term and part-time, we are flexible to suit your needs.
Our volunteers gain a vast range of skills and experience such as:
- project management
- administration
- research
- marketing
- valuing goods donated to our shops
- re-making and re-working items to be sold in our shops
- providing the best customer service
- basic food prep and hygeine skills
Infact with so many exciting activities going on it is hard not to find something for everyone here at St Margaret's House.
As a volunteer, you can expect that...
- Your gift of time, skills and experience will be used well so that you can make a difference to the charities and organisations who benefit from the work which St Margaret's House do.
- You will be provided with all the information and guidance required for you to carry out your volunteering. You will be encouraged to develop in your volunteering role.
- St Margaret's House will reimburse you for the main expenses your volunteering incurs.
- Your volunteering will be appreciated and recognised.
- You will volunteer in an organisation that is non-discrimatory and aims to be more diverse.
- You are free to stop volunteering at any time.
