Yoga for Jedis (3 class series)

YOGA FOR JEDIS – A VINYASA YOGA COURSE DESIGNED FOR THE STAR WARS-LOVING YOGI

Can breath work help you control the Force? Does Chubaka have a favourite Warrior pose? And what does a Ki-Adi-Mundi headstand look like? In three episodes, this course will help you develop or revisit your Vinyasa practice from a fresh perspective: that of Yoda, Luke and even Anakin.

With lots of music, quotes (and even possibly outfits!) from the Star Wars saga, each class will offer a really playful and fun experience of Vinyasa. But the course will also invite students to reflect on some of the more profound concepts shared by both Yogic and Jedi traditions, such as the impermanence of the material world, or the need to see beyond our senses by unlocking intuition. Elements of meditation and breath work will be included alongside the physical asana practice.

The classes will be designed as Open Level as therefore suitable for Yogis and Jedis of all levels of practice, apart from complete beginners.

Date and Time: Saturdays 9th, 16th and 23rd January 2016
3pm to 4:15pm

The YogaNest, 27 Old Ford Rd, London E2 9PJ Price: £30 for the 3 classes (classes cannot be booked individually). *** For bookings please email agathe.guerrier@gmail.com ***

Vinyasa Yoga for Nepal

Yoga fundraiser on the 12th December to support mental health of people in Nepal affected by the earthquakes.

Like yoga, music supports our well-being. So we thought it would be great to do a yoga fundraiser for Otakar Kraus Music Trust who are using music therapy to support people in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Nepal. Margaret and Walter who run the Otakar do so entirely for free - none of the money fundraised goes towards their expenses or salary. Nepal is very close to our hearts and our time there has been a transformative experience; Suzy has undertaken her PhD research in Nepal and Hanna did teacher training there and is excited to lead the classes for this cause.

See Okakar Kraus Music Trusts website for more details

Winter Wellbeing Yoga Workshop

"Winter Wellbeing- don't allow the winter blues to catch you " Yoga Workshop

Stay energized and happy till the end and look on the new year from a better angle.

According to the principles of Ayurveda, winter can aggravate conditions that can weaken our immune systems and affect the way we feel due to cold, which is why it’s essential to take a good care of ourselves at this time of the year.

In Winter Wellbeing you will learn to keep healthy and happy during the winter season through the practices of Asana, Pranayama, Mindfulness Meditation, and Yoga Nidra. You will be able to connect on a deeper level, unleashing the creativity and inner flow each one of us have.

The workshop will start with a grounding winter yoga flow asana practise, followed by calming and purifying breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation. The last part of the workshop is dedicated to Yoga Nidra, very often referred to the Yogic sleep. Yoga Nidra or the lucid sleeping is among the deepest possible states of relaxation, while you still remain fully conscious. It’s proven to reduce tension and anxiety, such as headache, giddiness, chest pain, sweating, and post-traumatic stress.

Everyone will leave with a paper copy of the winter yoga sequence for home practice, including tips for winter wellbeing.

Date and Time: Saturday, 21 November, 2. 15 pm to 4.45 pm
The YogaNest, 27 Old Ford Rd, London E2 9PJ

Price: £30, Early bird £25 (book by 31 October)
