If you haven’t already heard, our cafe is turning 100% vegan from 29th December 2017. It’s goodbye to dairy milks and about time to wholly embrace all of the incredible plant based ones.
Veganism is an important part of building a more sustainable future, as the adoption of a vegan diet globally would cut food-related emissions by 70%. Join us in making the transition and try one of our delicious dairy alternatives – we’ve got almond, coconut, soya and oat milk to cover every mood!
We aren’t stopping there either. To mark the occasion, we will be celebrating in style on Wednesday 31st January. Opening up our doors for an evening of gourmet vegan food and special guest speakers, this night will be a testament to how great being vegan can really be!
Our chefs are already busy preparing a delectable set of bites, not seen on our regular daily menu. Come if you are vegan, bring a friend who isn’t, come if you aren’t vegan. This event is for everyone.
Confirmed for the night is the hilarious and award-winning comedian Dave Chawner, as seen on BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Dave recently took his show C'est La Vegan to the Edinburgh Fringe, selling out all is his nights to rave reviews. His act is all about the origins of food, ideas and views. It uses comedy to tackle misconceptions about veganism, benefits of a vegan lifestyle and the importance of looking at where things come from.
Also speaking will be Fiona Oakes, who is a world record marathon runner, vegan activist, manager of Tower Hills Animal Sanctuary and the founder of the Fiona Oakes Foundation: aiming to strike at the root cause of what she believes is the biggest single issue facing the world in which we live – sustainability.
A feature length sports documentary centred on Fiona, called ‘Running for Good’, is currently in production by the award winning filmmaker directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Keegan Kuhn, whose previous titles include COWSPIRACY: The Sustainability Secret, What The Health and Turlock.
Fenomeno Show will also be there, who is an old school vinyl selector serving a 360° view of Reggae music from Ska, Roots, Dub, Rub-a-Dub, to New Roots and Dancehall!
Fenomeno Show is also the founder of the cultural organization ‘Open the Gate’, with the aim to encourage and promote Arts, Design, Music & Culture related to the African continent and cultures.
Tickets are available via thegallerycafe.eventbrite.com
Tickets only cost £10 which include access to our free buffet (did we mention free?), an arrival drink and will also help us pay our hand selected speakers and performers.
