Venue: Gallery Cafe
7:30pm-10:30pm | £5 adv | £7 otd
Following last month's involvement with Independent Venue Week 2019, St. Margaret's House are kicking March off with a fantastic showcase of songwriters you have to see:
We first encountered Dawn at one of our monthly Open Mic nights and her voice brought the whole venue to a stand still. Influenced by the traditional music of her scottish roots and her classical studies as a pianist, Dawn Coulshed is an acoustic singer-songwriter currently establishing herself within London’s alternative-pop music scene. There is a sensitivity in Dawn’s instrumental playing that draws the listener in and allows her vocals to soar above as her lyrics reveal honest, human stories.
Tilly is another musician who we first encountered at our Open Mic night. Writing alternative folk songs, with a focus on poetic lyricism and uplifting melody with deserved comparisons to Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith, we had to have him back for a full set.
"the lyrics are beautiful and poetic, what more can you ask for in a song?… absolutely brilliant" BBC Introducing, Devon
Reinis Jaunais (also known as Reinis Young) is an astounding guitar player. Coming from Latvia, Reinis is a passionate traveller, having played across Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Asia for many years sharing his songs with the world. Having last played at the Gallery Cafe in December 2018, we couldn't wait to have him back. With four full length albums under his belt, Reinis is one of the most talented guitarists we have seen.
