ICS Weaving Womens Stories-poster.jpg

Venue: Gallery Cafe

7.30pm to 10pm | Free (booking required)

Explore the connections between storytelling and textile-making in women’s lives from ancient Greece to modern London. Come along and enjoy the stories of our craftivist foremothers in artefacts and poetry from the past; hear the voices of these ‘subversive stitchers’ with an evening performance from By Jove Theatre, introduced by experts on ancient craft.

This evening is part of the national Being Human Festival and starts off our weekend long event inside our Create Place, more info here.

Doors open 7.30pm; performance starts 8pm. The performance will last for approximately one hour, after which you are invited to join the performers and experts for informal conversation and a drink at the bar, or to try your hand at weaving on our replica ancient loom.

This event is suitable for audiences aged 18+. Please be advised that the performance may allude to themes (e.g. sexual violence) which some may find upsetting.
