Q&A: The screening will be followed by a short discussion with Benny Wenda, other participants to be confirmed.

THE LANI SINGERS will be performing West Papuan songs of freedom after the Q&A.
The Lani Singers hail from the remote central highland region of West Papua in the south-west Pacific. Deeply emotive and compelling, their songs are rooted in the sacred rituals of the Lani tribe people – a tribe whose way of living has remained largely unchanged since the Stone Age. Their music has also come to embody a powerful modern day message - the struggle that their fellow people endure under a brutal and illegal Indonesian occupation.

The event aims to raise awareness of West Papua’s struggle and put the issue of self-determination into the spotlight. The event is free with the purpose of being inclusive and accessible to all. However, there will be donation buckets floating around the proceeds of which will be going to the Free West Papua Campaign.
