A night celebrating Hibaq Osman's debut into the publishing world with collection 'A Silence You Can Carry' with live performances from London's finest poets.

About the Author

Hibaq Osman is a 21-year old Somali writer born and raised in West London. She currently studies Psychology and Counselling at Roehampton University. In 2012 she won both the Brent Poetry Slam and the Roundhouse Poetry Slam. She is a member of the Burn After Reading collective, a community of young and emerging poets and writers founded and supported by Jacob Sam-La Rose and Jasmine Cooray in London.

Aisling Fahey

Aisling Fahey has performed in various locations across England, America and Ireland, including the Barbican, the Houses of Parliament and Glastonbury. She previously won the London Teenage Senior Slam and SLAMbassadors UK, run in association with The Poetry Society. She is a member of the Burn After Reading collective and Barbican Young Poets and is currently the Young Poet Laureate for London. She co-facilitated the Barbican Junior Poets programme this year, and has completed residencies in places such as the Free Word Centre, the London Irish Centre and the Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Zia Ahmed 

Zia is a member of the Elephant Collective. Elephant is a collective of writers, poets, rappers, visual artists, producers and storytellers. They have performed around the world from New York to Berlin, Paris to Sofia, popping up everywhere from BBC radio, to CNN, to festival stages, sipping tea and telling stories. Performance highlights include; Bestival, the House of Commons, Secret Garden Party, the Southbank centre and many more. Zia won the Roundhouse Poetry Slam in 2011.
