Join us on Tuesday 23rd April for the launch of London Leap: a free evening of inspiring talks, discussions and music. During the evening we will come together to listen and share our stories and experiences of London, and contribute our vision for building a just city that works for everyone.
London faces the biggest crisis in recent memory. Burning fossil fuels is destroying our climate, social cleansing, filthy air, racial injustice and precarious jobs are making London an increasingly difficult city to live in, and our voices are not being heard. Those who bear the most responsibility for climate change - and who also have the broadest shoulders - are failing to take action, while black and brown communities are left to carry the heaviest burden.
Climate change demands wholesale transformation – social, economic and cultural. London played a pivotal role in creating the fossil economy – and we are still driving it today. Yet this crisis is not just a threat, it is also our best chance of building a just city that works for everyone by closing inequalities, strengthening and renewing the public sphere, challenging racist border policies, generating dignified work and taking responsibility for our colonial past and present. It’s time to create a London that works for everyone.
