Come and celebrate the launch of Ryoko Minamitani’s new exhibition, ‘The sound of the inner universe’.
This new exhibition explores the artist’s ‘inner universe’ through a personal collection of mixed-media paintings. Ryoko’s work combines a traditional Japanese colour scheme with various painting techniques and materials, including sand, ink and natural pigments taken from the earth’s atmosphere. Her work is influenced by abstract expressionism, psychology and spiritualism, including Shintoism, Buddhism and Non-dualism. ‘The sound of the inner universe’ encapsulates Ryoko’s internal landscape as she uncovers her unconscious, transforming mental and emotional phenomena into abstract expressions of the ‘essential soul’.
The launch will be accompanied by music and poems from Xavier Panades, alongside Ryoko Minamitani on the singing bowl. Xavier is a Catalan-born reciter and singer, whose music is described as ‘intuitive, passionate and unexpected’. Together Xavier and Ryoko will perform a 30 minute set which celebrates journeys of self-discovery and human emotions that reach the entrails of our existence.
