To celebrate local poet Michelle Mangal launching her debut writing collection 'All the Things I Learnt from You', the Gallery Café will be hosting a magical night of storytelling and spoken word poetry by 'Unheard Voices'.
Prepare to be wowed by feminist fairy tales with storyteller Liz Margereson, journeys of belonging and acceptance by writer Zahra Surooprajally and a heart-warming romance by storyteller Kerima Mohideen. Writer Amal Adam will be sharing her flash fiction work ‘Dey Call Me Abdi T’, and artist Tom Berry will be explaining how London influenced the book design of ‘All the Things I Learnt from You'.
Finally, Michelle Mangal will be performing poetry from her collection which promises to be as uplifting as it is unsettling. Part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, this night uniquely showcases the voices of women of colour.
All funds raised from ticket sales will be going directly to Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) to support their development in rural Cambodia.
