About this Event
Life as we know it is falling apart. Extreme weather events and mass species extinction cover the globe. The government has failed to implement radical change and action by environmental organisations has not been enough.
It's time to rebel.
Join Extinction Rebellion for our introduction to non-violent direct action, both theory and practice. In this workshop you will learn about the UK legal system, how to chat to police/public during actions, aspects of burnout and regenerative culture, and quick decision-making, as well as going through action essentials and practice of non-violent techniques.
You will also form your own affinity groups, with whom you may carry out these actions in the run-up to the international rebellion - it is a good to have an idea of who you’d like to team up with, and your level of involvement, before coming to the workshop.
Bring food to share if you can, vegan if possible.
Entry is free but please sign up for an Eventbrite ticket to make sure we have space for you on the day.
There is no formal creche, but if you need to bring your children and keep them with you in the workshop space, please feel free to do so and we will do our best to help out. Let us know if you like on firstname.lastname@example.org.
