Friday Massage

  • The Canvas at St. Margaret's House 27 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Now in its 5th year of residency at St Margaret’s House, our Friday Massage clinic continues to evolve in its mission to provide accessible, affordable massage treatment to the community.

The experienced therapists have all worked and studied individually for over 20 years and have come together to create a safe, communal environment that is inclusive, supportive and healing.

Each week, 2 or 3 male and female practitioners work together in the space at the same time, and all treatments are given on the floor on comfortable heated mats. Recipients remain fully clothed at all times and no oils are used.

After a brief consultation conversation, the therapist will use their own unique and creative combination of pressure and dynamic movement to support your mobility, release tension and revitalise your mind and body.

Lovely, inclusive and inviting space, surrounded by great energy. Welcoming vibes from all the therapists

About your parctitioners

Rob (male practitioner): Robert's treatments are a unique and contemporary blend of eastern and western massage and esoteric knowledge that incorporate Zen Shiatsu, Thai massage, Osteopathic technique and Andean Shamanism.

Robert is an experienced, authentic, intuitive and empathic therapist who began practising massage in 2001. His dedication to the study of mysticism and the healing arts has taken him on a worldwide journey, and he's worked with everyone from Hollywood stars to homeless people.

Sara (female practitioner): Sara’s approach to bodywork is steeped in her experience as a dancer. Backed by her own lived-in understanding of the body’s structure, her treatments aim to restore balance and functionality.

At The Health Tree Massage clinic, she offers Shiatsu, a technique originating from Japan that uses gentle pressure and manipulations to improve the body’s energy flow according to the principles of Chinese medicine.

Sara trained in Holistic massage, Shiatsu and Structural Integration at the Chicago College of Healing Arts and has been practicing professionally in London since 2017. Working at the interface between the physical and emotional, Sara believes that true strength is being at peace with and within one’s own body.

Jo Lim (Female Practitioner): Jo is a registered Osteopath with over 20 years of clinical experience. Originally trained in Thai Massage in Thailand, she offers a unique blend of osteopathy and bodywork tailored to support pain relief, injury recovery and overall vitality. Her treatments include full-body massage, injury assessment and personalised therapeutic care.

Jo specialises in supporting clients through life transitions, including pregnancy, postnatal recovery, menopause and aging. She is particularly experienced in treating unresolved injuries, digestive issues and menstrual discomfort.

Known for her calming presence, Jo helps clients restore balance, ease tension and enhance their long-term health and wellbeing through holistic, hands-on therapy.

Miles Joseph (Male Practitioner): Miles is an experienced massage therapist, beginning his journey of Thai massage practice in 2012. He continues to be inspired by this practice and the well-being benefits it brings. In his massage treatments, he seeks to apply these practices, incorporating rhythm and stillness and natural movement patterns to enable the free flow of energy.

Through mindful touch and gentle assists, Miles creates movement where there is stagnation and yield where there is tension, to nourish and relax body and mind.

Miles has also taken a number of yoga teacher trainings, incorporating vinyasa yoga, somatic movement and qi gong, and acknowledges the synergies between these practices and Thai massage.
