Pr0t0typ3

  • The Chapel at St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Join us for Pr0t0typ3, an exhibition by Nihal J. Singh, Artist in Residence at SMH from April-June 2026

The Pr0t0typ3 exhibition showcases the explorations and experimentations created by Nihal during his 3-month artist residency at St Margaret's House. Building on from his pre-existing community carpentry practice, Nihal combines physical computing and experimental music to create multidisciplinary prototypes - a fusion of artistic expression.

This exhibition will detail Nihal's journey as an artist and will showcase some of his earliest work as a carpenter and community facilitator. As Nihal's practice progressed, so too did his ambition to create and experiment. Understanding prototypes as the opportunity to sample or test concepts, you can expect a variety of artistic creations in their early forms of inception - whether that is music demos, kinetic sculptures or lighting installations.

From 7pm, enjoy the musical talents of some local musicians gathered directly from the Shy Shares workshop series, led by Nihal as a part of his Artistic Duo Shynamique.

This event is a part of the St Margaret’s House Discover Festival, a week of Arts & Wellbeing activities for residents of Tower Hamlets and beyond
