‘Drawing With Light’ explores the interplay between material and image. A photograph embedded in acrylic interacts with the shadow of a gel drawing, which merges with the light captured in the photo, creating a layered illusion that speaks to the essence of photography.

Natalie is currently working on an research project called ‘Imprints’, looking at the geographical and social histories of Broadway Market; gangland territories, housing and gentrification and the historic textile industry that characterise the area that all in their own way have had such a profound impact on her life. She is reflecting on her responses to the investigation through sketching, painting, photography, film re-enactment and printmaking. This lightbox piece is from a series called ‘Landmarked’.
