Communal Dining is a community project that brings people together through creativity, heritage, food and shared cultural experiences.
Through a series of workshops, participants explore creative practices such as lino printing, illustration and collage, using food, memory and everyday life as starting points. The sessions are designed as open, welcoming spaces where people can connect, experiment and share their stories, building confidence and developing new creative skills along the way.
A key part of the project is the Art Café, led by Shahena and Honey, held every second Tuesday of the month, offering regular opportunities for people to gather, make and exchange. These sessions support wellbeing by creating space for reflection, conversation and shared experience.
Food becomes central at the end of each project, with a shared meal and exhibition where participants come together to celebrate their work and journeys. These moments bring people together, strengthen connections and create opportunities to share their stories with a wider audience.
Communal Dining works with people from diverse backgrounds and collaborates with artists and community partners to co-create inclusive, participant-led experiences rooted in lived experience.
Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.
