Evaluation: April 2025 - March 2026
2025/26 was an exciting year at St Margaret’s House. After a year of change in 2024/25, the last twelve months were about embedding and solidifying those changes and looking to the next phase of development for the charity’s work.
Over the last year we have gathered more evaluation than ever to collate our first annual evaluation report. This includes information about:
the people who come to take part in our arts/wellbeing/community activities
the number of activities we deliver
the feedback we get from people about their experiences
* We began making improvements to our buildings, kicking offa long-term capital programme to make SMH more welcoming, accessible and fit for the future. Our plans were given national recognition when, in March 2026, we were successful in an application to DCMS for £700,000 towards the next stage of the capital works.
* We started counting all the people who come through our doors on a weekly basis.
* We continued to grow our arts and wellbeing programme including introducing Bollywood singing, Art Cafes, D/deaf Cafes, Music Therapy sessions, theatre scratch nights, a Women’s History Month event exploring the SMH archive, experimental music nights of collective creation and a large community Eid celebration.
* We founded the Tower Hamlets Creative Health Forum and began writing the Tower Hamlets Creative Health Strategy in partnership with other organisations.
* We shared stories of what we do via our new blog and made changes to our branding to bring consistency across our website, social media and physical marketing.
* We began gathering Most Significant Change evaluation stories.
* We opened a new rehearsal studio.
* We held our first two second hand fashion shows.
* We exhibited staff artwork in the Gallery Cafe.
* We created two new roles in our team focused on participation and outreach.
Tell us what you think
We love finding different ways to understand the impact the work we do has on you. We send you surveys from time-to-time, ask you to complete an annual Community Survey, and you may also have seen our Evaluation Tree in The Create Place where we ask for your immediate thoughts which can then be seen by others.
We also love hearing from you directly all year round as to ways we can improve what we do so we can continue to offer the best experiences possible.
