Ahista Stories presents its first ever exhibition! Including a collective story quilt worked on by members of our community, our exhibition curates both textile art and other media that reflect on the meaning and sustainability of South Asian textiles. At Ahista Stories we reject prescriptive and rigid definitions of ‘art’, so expect a dynamic collection of pieces contributed by South Asian peers and supporters that represent our approach to textiles and fashion, and the community we’ve been building since 2023.
This exhibition is a part of the Ahista Stories Live, London's only South Asian sustainable fashion festival.

Ahista Stories is a community-led platform building a fairer fashion system and celebrating South Asian textile artistry. Through our annual festival, workshops, panel discussions and digital content, we work at the intersection of fashion, labour rights and climate justice - insisting that the fashion system must change.

‘Ahista’ means slow in Urdu, an official language in Pakistan and India. For us, slowness means advocating for mindful, maker-led production of fashion; fair labour; and conscious consumption in the face of ever-faster trend cycles and overproduction.
