Behind Every Door - Opening Event

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

St Margaret's House is a work-home for more than 30 community organisations and wellbeing practices. In this exhibition, we take you behind the many doors to find the artists and participants creating here.

Every individual possesses unique abilities that often go unseen in the workplace. These hidden talents, that people don't always get to exhibit in their daily life, are powerful expressions of personal identity.

The organisations that make up the community of St Margaret's House are facilitators of creativity and wellbeing for and with our community. Through this exhibition we can openly celebrate the creativity that exists within the organisations themselves.

A wide range of work is displayed from painting, mixed media, sculpture and photography to film and video.

Through sharing pieces created by those working behind every door at St Margaret's House, we are sharing this hidden brilliance with a wider audience: everyone who visits The Gallery Cafe. The community who find their work-home in our many spaces also has the chance to discover things about each other that they didn't know before, and this experience will foster new conversations and connections.

Join us for the opening event where we will hear some of the artists talk about the piece they have created and the work they do behind the doors at St Margaret’s House.
