South Asian Sisters invites you to our latest evening of storytelling, exploring the theme of beauty.
Join us for a live storytelling event inspired by Anita Bhagwandas’ groundbreaking book, Ugly: Giving Us Back Our Beauty Standards. Beauty isn't just skin deep—it’s political, personal, and powerful. Join us for a night of storytelling, reflection, and rebellion as we unpack the truth behind beauty culture and how it's shaped our lives.
We’ll be passing the mic to YOU plus a short discussion hosted by SASS with award-winning journalist, author and speaker,Anita Bhagwandas. Bring your own personal 5-minute story. Tell us about your earliest memory of beauty standards, when you’ve defied or rebelled against them, or when you’ve felt most beautiful and comfortable in your skin.
Come with a story, get inspired to share at the event or come along and listen, all welcome!
