WORKSHOP: Cut Out Club -ABSTRACT ZINES

  • The Create Place 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PJ United Kingdom (map)

In this workshop, we will explore the theme of "abstract" through warm-up activities, creative prompts, and a relaxed block of time to make mini-zines that meaningfully reflect your thoughts, feelings, and experiences 🔺🟩🟡🔷⭕🔸

Since "abstract" thinking and art stimulates the part of the brain associated with creativity and imagination, your engagement in this workshop is like exercise for those muscles.

This highly interpretable theme is all about leaning into your childlike imagination to play with form, shape, colour, and style, using the wide array of provided materials.

You do not need any prior experience to take part (though we always do like to welcome back familiar faces!) and included with your ticket is a bespoke handmade envelope full of collage cut-outs to use on the day or take home for later.

Embrace the element of chance, make new like-minded friends, join our supportive community, and most importantly – have fun delving into the zine-making process!

Still unsure about coming along? Check this to see how our previous zine workshop went, or read anonymously submitted feedback here from previous participants.

We are releasing a range of ticket price options in the hope that everyone will be able to take part. There are a limited number of each ticket option available, therefore we kindly ask that you do an honest assessment of your affordability to ensure the intended equal access.

Here's a guide to help inform your choice:

✴️ £10 (covers some of our costs) – I am a student, unemployed, on benefits, financially stressed, or regularly struggle to meet my basic needs

✴️ £12 (covers most of our costs) – I am employed, have some expendable income, and manage to meet my basic needs

✴️ £15 (covers all of our costs and supports future workshops) – I am employed or have enough savings to comfortably meet my basic needs

You can also get 20% off your booking using the code ABSTR20CT in honour of Cut Out Club launching their new Eventbrite page!
