EVENT: Regular Poetry Club: Lost in the Foxglove

  • The Create Place 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

This bi-monthly workshop series will focus on your poetic development and creating meaningful connections across backgrounds/disciplines in an interactive, low-pressure environment. Participants will be provided with "mood board" documents, word banks, and different weekly topics/ lessons to assist in their poetic development.

The main goals being - to break down insecurity, embrace imperfection, and build community along the way. The classes can be a one-off or a chance to build via previous attendance. Think new-pathways, community, candidness, growth, queer-friendly, and pure fun.

Basic outline; group arrival, tea & biscuits, go through the topic/ area of focus that week & accompanying micro-lesson, get to writing, share & make connections with fellow participants.

What does Lost in the Foxglove mean?: Foxglove flowers represent the ethereal, double meanings, pride, and creativity. We want to let ourselves explore the potential of ‘what if’ and create as a new pathway develops rather than focusing on where we will end up.

Bio: My name is Lauren Bulla AKA Liminal Bleed Art. I am a poet, writer, digital & acrylic artist from Austin, TX based in N London. My educational background is in political science & human rights law.

I have loved the arts as long as I can remember but this is the first time in my ENTIRE life that I decided to take myself seriously as a creative. I’ve never devoted so much energy into understanding what I am capable of as a artist or writer until moving to London in October 2022.

It’s easy for us to bypass hopes of creation as it feels much of it will never lead us anywhere - I want to challenge the voice in my head telling me to stop trying, and hope my creative practice encourages the same in my viewers/ participants.
