Join us for a new free Art Cafe every second Tuesday of the month in the Gallery Cafe!
This year at the Art Cafe, we’re teaming up with Communal Dining on their project 'The Table We Make.' A project bringing people together through the shared love of food and art.
Together, we’ll be creating a collaborative table installation that will be showcased at the community Eid event at St Margaret’s House in June (more details soon).
Alongside this, we’re opening up the cafe for an evening of community creativity and collaborative drawing.
From now until May, our sessions will explore fabric‑collage, air‑dry clay , candle painting and sharing food stories. We’ll be drawing inspiration from cultures around the world to reflect the East London we know today. Each month there will be a new creative stimulus and you can choose to work on your own or join others at the communal tables.
Come with friends or come solo — whatever feels right. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and open to everyone. Although the sessions are aimed at adults, you’re welcome to bring your children if that’s the only way you can attend. You’re also encouraged to bring your own projects if you’d like a cosy space to create alongside others.
The Art Cafe runs from 6–8pm and you’re free to drop in whenever you can, even if it’s just for a short while. All materials are provided and the cafe will be open for teas, cold drinks, wraps and salads if you’d like refreshments while you create.
