Explore Outdoors - Mindful Walking and Colouring

  • Victoria Park - Meeting point at Bonner Gate, Sewardstone Rd, Bethnal Green, London E2 9JW London, England, E2 9JW United Kingdom (map)

Humans are also water beings: our bodies are made up of 60-70% water!

In this workshop, you are invited to connect with your inner fluidity, creativity, and the nourishing and healing qualities of water through a walking meditation and mindful colouring of water art.

The workshop will begin with a guided walking meditation around the lake or along the canal to practice slowing down, taking peaceful steps, and flowing together like a river. We will then find a quiet spot to sit down in the park and practice mindful colouring of the crystallography of local water bodies while enjoying the present moment and nature sounds around us. To close the workshop, there will be an opportunity for a short group sharing of our inner or outer experiences as we practised mindfulness of movement and creativity, as well as any reflections or imaginative interpretations of the water art patterns or colours. What do you see when you look at water?

This workshop is for anyone interested in:

• Cultivating inner qualities inspired by water, including: peace, flow, and stability

• Practising (or learning) walking meditation and mindful colouring

• Connecting with water and nature: inside us and around us

• Integrating mindful meditation into daily activities and movement

• Contemplating water through art and science

This session is part of St Margaret's House Explore Outdoors programme, an annual series of free outdoor arts and wellbeing activities for adults in Victoria Park, to support the health and wellbeing of Tower Hamlets residents.
