Storytelling with SASS: Music

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

South Asian Sisters Speak invites you to our latest evening of storytelling, exploring the theme of music.

Join us for an evening celebrating music, identity and storytelling with Eelam Tamil-rooted and London-raised vocalist Pritt, alongside London-based DJ and producer Bia. Together, we'll explore what music means to them, their journeys into the music industry, and their relationships with South Asian music and culture.

Through an engaging conversation, Pritt and Bia will share personal stories, creative influences and reflections on how music can shape our sense of belonging, home and identity. We'll discuss the sounds, artists and traditions that have inspired them, as well as the challenges and opportunities of navigating the music world as South Asian artists.

The event will include a facilitated discussion, opportunities for audience participation, and space to reflect on the role music plays in our own lives and communities. Whether you're passionate about music, curious about South Asian creative expression, or simply looking to connect through shared experiences, all are welcome.

All are welcome to attend. However, SASS primarily designs spaces for South Asian women to centre experiences that are often marginalised, and we ask that you kindly respect this if you do not identify as a South Asian woman.

About South Asian Sisters Speak:

SASS creates inclusive spaces for South Asian women to connect, learn and share their experiences. Since 2016, they've been running regular workshops, events and the Brown Girls' Book Club - helping South Asian women find belonging and community so they feel empowered to be their whole selves.
