Tapestry - Part Three

  • The Gallery Cafe at St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

'Tapestry - Part 3' presents a live, freeform, improvised session that combines sounds and approaches from multiple perspectives simultaneously.

Onesixfour invites you to 'Tapestry - Part 3', the final event of an initial trilogy at St. Margaret's House. We are grateful to everyone that came to the last one, and contributed to such a special experience. Whether you are coming again or for the first time, we promise this one will be even better.

This third event will run very similar to Part 2, with a few minor adjustments. Expect unexpected sonic crossovers, live visual art and an open, supportive space that welcomes everyone.

What is Tapestry?
A tapestry is formed from many threads crossing, overlapping, and supporting one another to create a single artwork.

Within this context, Tapestry is:

  • A space that embraces openness, experimentation, and diversity.

  • Encouragement of unexpected patterns and connections.

  • A creative approach that allows new forms and moments to emerge from shared creation.

  • A practical way for likeminded people to follow their curiosity.

How the event works

'Tapestry - Part 3' is framed as a live improvisation session, that will focus on a curated group of music producers and vocal artists - all from different backgrounds and with different approaches - creating sound live together. The event will work as an entirely improvised session. Electronic producers, instrumentalists, rappers, spoken word artists and singers will all perform with one another in a continuous cyclical nature. Alongside this, there will be live artists creating visual work as the performance goes on.
This overlapping structure encourages listening, responsiveness, and collaboration, shifting the focus away from individual showcase and toward collective experience.

Who is this for?
Tapestry is open to all ages, and everyone is welcome. The turnout has been incredible for our first 2 events, and we are expecting our biggest crowd yet for this one. There will be cushions and comfortable seating on the stage, and an open setup that encourages the audience to move wherever they please.
Audience members are invited not just to watch, but to inhabit the space — contributing to a temporary, living artwork through presence, attention, and participation.

At its core, Tapestry is about social art: prioritising shared creation over perfection, and embracing risk, play, and learning together. This is not about pushing anyone beyond their comfort zone, but about creating a space where comfort zones can gently intersect, sparking curiosity, connection, and inspiration.
