WORKSHOP: Looking at everyday life

  • The Create Place 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PJ United Kingdom (map)
Poster: 'Looking at everyday life - a mindful painting and drawing workshop series exploring nature in everyday life. Every second sunday 12-2pm, from January to may 2024 at the create place.'

There are 9 workshops in the series running every second Sunday from 14th January - 19th May 2024.

This series of workshops aims to explore the potential of art in helping us notice the beauty of our everyday environment. The series will culminate in the creation of a collaborative art piece which will be exhibited in the Chapel at St. Margaret’s House on the weekend of the 18th May 2024, where we welcome you all to join us.

In each class, we will explore something that inspires us from nature and everyday life. The themes include; birds, water, sky and rain (find each of the weekly themes listed here). We will delve into how artists have explored these themes in different art forms including music, visual art and poetry, paying particular attention to the work of underrepresented and non-Western artists. After our introduction of the theme we will give you the opportunity to discuss, share with & listen to those around you, helping us to ignite our collective creativity. We will work on some playful, expressive drawing and writing exercises and then move on to creating our own section of the final collaborative art piece.

Come ready to be inspired, meet new people and learn something new in a relaxed and informal environment! This class is for all abilities and all materials will be provided.
