Headdress Workshop

Design and create your own unique, magnificent headdress ready to wear to summer festivals, magical parties, or just for the fun of learning something new!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with experience of costumery. The headdress base and all materials are supplied, including high-quality fake flowers and a cornucopia of creatively sourced decorative materials to embellish your individual creation! You will learn inventive ways to attach and secure your decorations and are also encouraged to bring any embellishments to add to your design. It is always good to bring something special to make your headdress really personal.

These workshops are a great place to join others and make friends in a mutually encouraging space. Or come with friends who are joining you at a future festival or event, and design your own unique headdresses together!

Testimonials

"I love the shear amount of stuff & knowledge you bring to these workshops. I've learned so much from you! I especially appreciate that it doesn't include complicated machinery or endless hours of sewing. In a few hours you can create something from start to finish, which is such a rewarding feeling and always makes me come out of your workshops with a bounce in my step." - Participant of Fix-Up, Look Sharp!

"Had SUCH a wonderful time. Really fun and productive" - Participant of Fix-Up, Look Sharp!

Your workshop practitioner, Hélène Corr:

’I have been running eclectic, fun, crafting, and fashion workshops at SMH and other venues since 2021. These have included headdress making, upcycling shoes, glasses, and clothes, No-Sew Kimono, mask making, jewellery and social crafty ‘make what you want’ workshops. I have run workshops at The Royal Festival hall for over 200 people as well as small group private parties.

I am currently one of two workshop leaders for SMH’s CrafterSchool - a weekly children’s after-school arts & crafts club. I also run a regular ‘Feeling Good’ Crafts workshop for the over 50s in Shoreditch.

I am always on the lookout for other opportunities to share my love of making and creating using fun resources and unusual techniques. I am trying to make my workshops as sustainable as possible using as much recycled materials as possible.’
