Moving through Grief

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a heart-warming and safe workshop where we will explore the journey from grief to love in a supportive and empowering setting.

Grief is often associated with the death of a loved one, but it can arise from many other forms of loss. This workshop creates a safe and supportive space to explore grief in all its forms—whether it’s the loss of a relationship, a change in health, identity, career or life direction. Together, we’ll gently unpack what grief can look and feel like, how it moves through us and how to support ourselves and others through it. We all experience heartbreak. Loss is universal and grief exists because our world is constantly changing.

The law of nature teaches us that things come and go. The nature of life is impermanence. Loss is inevitable and constant. Whatever is going on right now, good or bad, this too shall pass. Sometimes change can be exciting. We like it when good things come that enhance our lives. But when we become attached to things and they leave, we experience grief. Remember that crying is a natural part of healing when you’re heartbroken and lonely, longing for what you’re missing, and yearning for the way things were. Grief is here to help heal the pain; it’s a quiet energy that can nurture a broken heart. To process grief, you have to feel it. Feel your disappointment, fear and sadness. Connect to where you’re feeling these emotions in your body. Instead of thinking about it, surrender to the feeling.

What to Expect: The workshop is conducted once a month, each session has a different topic and grief movement sequence. We will begin with an exploration of grief theory and emotions to understand how loss impacts us on emotional, physical and energetic levels. Then, we’ll move into grief movement, breathwork, journaling and sound to support emotional release and reconnection with the body. The session will close with a gentle meditation and a deeply relaxing sound bath to soothe the nervous system and integrate your experience. This workshop is for women navigating loss—whatever that loss may be. Come as you are - no previous experience is needed.

This month's theme is: The Quiet Weight: Guilt and Shame in the Grieving Body

You can do the grief movement session from the chair, it is very accessible.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
