Nokshi Katha

  • The Create Place at St. Margaret's House 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PJ United Kingdom (map)

This free 10-week workshop series invites you to connect with different cultures and learn the skills and techniques of Nokshi Katha, one of the oldest forms of embroidery in the world. Originating in Bangladesh, this is a beautiful and meditative craft which upcycles old cloth and materials into elaborate embroidered pieces. You will learn techniques from our practitioner, sustainable textile artist Shama Kun, and use your skills to contribute to both individual and collective pieces.

No prior experience is necessary to join this friendly and supportive group.

We run three terms of 10-weeks per year during Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Dates & Times: Fridays, 10am-1pm. Autumn term dates TBC.
