Points of Interest

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Curated by Lenka Della-Porta and Yilin Wong, this exhibition presents thirteen London-based artists. Exploring nostalgia and change, the exhibition weaves personal memories into collective patterns of longing, loss, adolescence, and shared becoming.

We are drawn to ideas about time passing and nostalgia; each experience is like a strip of fabric woven into a dissonant quilt. We yearn for places we moved away from, and for a familiarity that fades as our identities change along with our surroundings. Physical objects become our only means of preserving an intangible timeline, driven by a desire to immortalise our memories, experiences, and the spaces that shape them. As the world and our lives unfold, we often feel disoriented by change - especially in moments of loss, when things no longer feel where they should be. Yearning becomes a constant when navigating change - one that spills into our creative practice. We search for the repetition in figures, symbols, and patterns we recognise, using them to connect with others and recognise shared experiences. ‘Points of Interest’ reflects on the isolation of adolescence and the unfolding of individuation, acknowledging how personal memories can resonate through a collective experience.

Artist Bio: Lenka Della-Porta is a British Japanese artist living in London. Loosely taking the form of self portraits her work examines the self, visualising memories and nostalgias as a still snapshot - otherwise moments lost to the passing of time. Lenka’s work is littered with motifs, symbols, and characters that visualise her dual exposure to her environment. Playing on this duality, her worlds challenge the ongoing differences and similarities; Childhood and adulthood, masculinity and femininity, belonging and displacement, truth and secrecy.
