Check out what's happening at St Margaret's House
11th June 2026
On 20 June, we mark World Refugee Day, an international day designated by the United Nations to recognise the courage, resilience and contributions of refugees worldwide. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the experiences of people who have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict, persecution, violence or environmental crises and to reaffirm the importance of dignity, inclusion and the right to seek safety. At St Margaret's House, these principles remain central to our work and to the communities we seek to nurture.
This spirit of solidarity and cultural exchange is reflected in several events taking place in our spaces, including Through Saharawi Eyes: The Freedom Project, an exhibition whose Opening Event takes place this evening in The Gallery Cafe, and Queer Migrant Pride Fest 26, which creates space for stories, perspectives and experiences that are too often overlooked. Alongside these, our programme continues to offer a wide range of opportunities to engage with the arts, wellbeing, learning, and community life. We invite you to explore what is on offer and join us in fostering a more inclusive, connected, and welcoming society.
There is much more to discover at St Margaret’s House, with activities taking place across our spaces for all ages and interests. Check out our What's on page and read on to find out what's coming up soon, or download a PDF version on the button below.
Led by Sundial Arts, these relaxed outdoor sessions invite you to connect with nature through drawing, observation, and creative exploration. Materials are provided, so just bring yourself, enjoy the fresh air and discover the inspiration that Victoria Park can offer.
Join us next Wednesday 24th June for our free monthly 'Meet Make Take' session. This drop-in morning arts and crafts activity gives members of our community a supportive space where they can relax, do some arts and crafts and connect with others.
A music and sound workshop - share something you're working on, enjoy listening together and offer feedback to other music artists - whilst sharing tea, snacks and stories.
A multimedia exhibition exploring joy, presence, healing and inner-child expression through collage, video, disco balls and ritual.
Experience the immersive rejuvenating frequencies of a Sound Bath. Through the use of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Gong and Percussion, this session will help you feel more enriched, connected and in harmony with yourself.
As part of 'Finding Home', a weekend-long creative takeover at St Margaret’s House, two artists are invited to exhibit 3 to 5 works exploring themes of home, memory, identity, community or belonging. The opportunity is especially open to artists who have not previously exhibited in a gallery setting. Applications close on 22 June, with the exhibition taking place from 17 to 19 July.
