Great Big Green Week and Refugee Week events
11th June 2026
We're looking forward to celebrating two occasions that reflect so much of what matters to us at St Margaret's House: connection, community and care for the world around us.
Next week marks Great Big Green Week, the UK's biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. It's a cause that resonates deeply with our values as a charity. We believe that creating a more just, sustainable future starts with people coming together, sharing knowledge and taking positive action in their communities.
We're also embracing the arrival of the summer solstice with two special free events launching our Explore Outdoors programme. On Thursday 18th June, join us for Reconnecting with Nature, an opportunity to slow down, tune into the natural world and enjoy mindful time outdoors; or discover the flavours and traditions of seasonal plants at our Herbal Tea Tasting session, where we'll explore the benefits of herbs and celebrate the abundance of summer. Details of how to book a free ticket to all of our events in this programme are on the Explore Outdoors page.
There is lots to discover at St Margaret’s House, with activities taking place across our spaces for all ages and interests. Check out our What's on page and read on to find out what's coming up soon, or download a PDF version on the button below.
Refugee Week (15 -21 June) is a global celebration of the creativity, strength, and contributions of refugees and asylum seekers. For us at St Margaret’s House, it's a chance to amplify individual voices, foster understanding and bring people together through dialogue and shared experiences.
Read our latest blog to learn more about what Refugee Week means to us, the events we're hosting this year, and why creating space for these stories and conversations matters.
Join award-winning journalist and former Home Office insider Nicola Kelly for a powerful exposé of Britain’s broken asylum system and how it fails us all. Drawing from her book Anywhere But Here, Nicola explores the realities faced by people seeking safety in the UK.
Join us for the Opening Event of our next Gallery Cafe exhibition (from Tuesday 16th June to Monday 20th July), Through Saharawi Eyes - The Freedom Project, an intimate collection of photographs by young Saharawi refugees, exploring identity, resilience, and life in exile.
We're celebrating Refugee Week and Pride Month for the FOURTH year running with Ice & Fire Theatre Company’s free daytime festival of wellbeing, workshops, activities, talks, screenings and performances to foster a world without borders: EVERYONE is welcome!
This 45-minute Slow Flow class on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes throughout the summer will connect your breath and movement through a creative sequence of poses.
Qayyah's yoga classes are a smooth, continuous, playful flow of different yoga postures. The class is a 'dynamic vinyasa', which means linking movement to your breath.

There are just a few days left to submit your work for this year’s St Margaret’s House Summer Open Exhibition, The Space Between, with the deadline closing on 15 June.
