Join our special events honouring women's achievements

5th March 2026

This week, we warmly invite you to explore what’s on at St Margaret’s House. Our programme includes workshops, talks, exhibitions and community activities that bring people together through creativity and shared experiences. Whether you want to try something new or simply spend time in a welcoming space, there is always something happening and we would love you to join us.

March is also Women’s History Month, which strongly resonates with our mission as a charity committed to inclusion, community and social change. To mark the occasion, we are hosting several events that celebrate women’s voices, histories and experiences. These include the Women’s History Month Archive Workshop, the exhibition Before the Blood: Community and Belonging from Menarche to Migration, and the talk The Wandering Womb. These activities create space for reflection, conversation, and learning and we would love you to be part of them.

Check out our What's on page and read on to find out what's coming up!

What SMH gives to me

"Through the sessions at SMH, I’ve been able to build up strength in a way that feels safe. I’ve formed good relationships with people, especially the facilitator, and that’s been an important part of my recovery process."

We’d love to know what SMH gives you and our Community Survey is your chance to tell us. Click on the link, fill in the survey and enter our prize draw to win brunch for four at The Gallery Café

Join us on International Women’s Day for a deep dive into the Archives of St Margaret's House, exploring and celebrating the legacies of the women who have helped shaped SMH - from the Founders of 1889, to the staff, artists and participants of today!

This is a community project developed and delivered in collaboration with the Vagina Museum and Nisaba, a menstrual health charity committed to menstrual justice for migrants including refugees and people seeking asylum living in the UK.

The Wandering Womb is a talk on the history of menstruation in culture and medicine, exploring how these two worlds intersect, shape one another, and how the stories we tell affect the way we bleed.

Are you a writer with a new theatre piece in need of an audience? 'Freshly Squeezed' is back and St Margaret’s House are thrilled to be collaborating with Flat 4 Theatre for our first Scratch Night of 2026! If you are an artist with a new piece you want to explore on stage, we encourage you to apply and be part of a night that champions fresh voices in theatre.

Hens with Heart is a social enterprise that helps people plan hen parties that give something back. The platform shares ideas, resources and partnerships with charities, including St Margaret's House, so groups can add meaningful activities to their celebrations, such as volunteering, fundraising or choosing more sustainable options. Their aim is simple. Show that hen parties can feel fun and special while also supporting communities, charities, and the environment. By encouraging small actions, they help many celebrations create a positive impact.
