Discover the vibrant events happening at St Margaret's House

7th May 2026

As we reflect on events in London and beyond over the last month, we recognise that many people are feeling unsettled or anxious in response to acts of violence and deeply divisive language. At St Margaret’s House, this compels us to reaffirm our commitment to being a place where everyone is welcome, where people are treated with dignity and respect and where difference is valued. We believe in kindness, connection and community above all else and we will continue to create spaces where people can come together safely and openly.

There is lots to discover at St Margaret’s House this week, with activities taking place across our spaces for all ages and interests. Check out our What's on page and read on to find out what's coming up soon, or download a PDF version on the button below.

Join us for our free, monthly Meet Make Take session on Wednesday 27th May. This drop-in morning arts and crafts activity gives members of our community a supportive space where they can relax, do some arts and crafts and connect with others.

Join us to celebrate Eid al-Adha 2026 as a community, whilst showcasing the creative and culinary work produced through Communal Dining’s workshops across East London.

Experience the immersive rejuvenating frequencies of a Sound Bath. Through the use of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Gong and Percussion, this session will help you feel more enriched, connected and in harmony with yourself.

This women-only workshop offers a safe and supportive space to explore grief in all its forms through reflection, movement, breathwork, sound and meditation, guiding a gentle journey from loss towards healing and love.

Curated by Tom Lemon & Gerard Cassidy, this exhibition presents a historical, sometimes cinematic glimpse into years gone by. Rainham to Limehouse is a nod to their creative imaging journey.

We are thinking of partnering with not-for-profit veg scheme Growing Communities to set up a collection point for organic fruit and veg bags here at St Margaret's House.

We would love to hear if this is something that you'd be interested in - so please add yourself to the waiting list if you might like to collect fruit and veg from SMH (completing the form is just an expression of interest and not a commitment).

Growing Communities are working to change our food system with:

  • Fair wages to farmers - 50% of the spend goes directly to the farmer.

  • Low food miles - over 80% of veg is grown in the UK and is sourced as locally as possible.

  • Everything certified organic - boosting biodiversity on farms and increasing our food security.

How it works: subscribe to a weekly bag of seasonal organic veg delivered to a collection point cupboard. Collect when it suits you within a 2-3 day window.
