Empowering Wellbeing: Join Our Journey

1st October 2025

As the autumn leaves begin to turn, we extend a warm and open invitation to join our vibrant community here at St Margaret’s House. This week, we are shining a special light on our wellbeing sessions, designed to offer a moment of peace and rejuvenation. Whether it’s through gentle mindful movement, a calming yoga class, or a creative workshop designed to quiet the mind, these gatherings are at the very heart of what we do: supporting comprehensive wellbeing.

Looking ahead, we are honoured to mark Black History Month in October. In the coming weeks, we will be proudly sharing inspiring events organised by our friends and partners across East London, celebrating the immense contributions, culture, and history of the Black community.

Check out our What's on and read on to find out what's coming up!

This class is for anyone who wishes to practise gently and relax deeply. We begin with calming meditation and gentle breath-led movement to release physical tension before transitioning into some restorative postures and relaxation infused with the healing energy of sound.

PhotoMonth Photography Festival celebrates photography in all its forms throughout East London in October.

On this occasion, St Margaret's House is hosting an exhibition this weekend by Urban Lens, a group of three women artists based in Hackney. Please come along to enjoy their fantastic work and join them this Friday in the Chapel, where the exhibition takes place, for a walk with the artists, exploring and photographing the urban and natural environment at twilight.

Additionally, join us next Wednesday 8th October at 6.30pm in The Gallery Cafe for the opening event of "Home Is?", an exhibition that shares personal stories of migration, intimacy, and landscape and fantasy, asking what home means when it is always moving, remembered and remade.

Join us for a day of FREE sessions, including crafting, comedy and circus, as we open our doors for our community to get involved and get creative. Activities are designed for children and parents/carers to enjoy together. Come along!

This workshop is a queer printmaking mixer where you’ll learn linocut carving in a relaxed, creative space while connecting with other LGBTQ+ people, making both prints and new connections.

We are currently looking for local artists to apply for our 2026 residencies. You can be an artist of any kind, working in any medium. All you need is the drive to work with our community and the passion for making art accessible.

Applications Close: Monday 20th October, 5pm. If you’d like to apply, please complete the form at the link below.
