Showcase Your Art at St Margaret's House
27th November 2025
This week at St Margaret’s House, we invite you to join the activities taking place across our spaces. You can take part in workshops, wellbeing sessions and creative events that bring people together. There is always something to try and someone new to meet and we would love to welcome you.
We also have a rolling programme of exhibitions in our chapel and our cafe. These spaces give artists a chance to show work in settings that support reflection and community. If you are an artist looking for a place to show your work, we encourage you to get in touch with Lara. Our chapel and cafe offer clear, flexible spaces where you can share your work with visitors who enjoy art and creative practice.

The Gallery Cafe and Ayoka will take a winter break from Monday 22nd December to Sunday 4th January. We hope you enjoy the season and plan your Christmas shopping with our break in mind. The St Margaret's House office will also be closed to the public during the same period. We are excited to see you when we open again on Monday 5th January.
Would you like to join our board?
We’re lucky to have a dedicated board of trustees at SMH who have a broad spectrum of skills and experiences to help guide everything we do.
We’re now looking for someone to join our board as treasurer. Could that be you or someone you know? Are you looking to contribute to an organisation doing a diverse range of arts and community work in Bethnal Green and beyond? Do you have charity finance expertise that you would like to put to use supporting an arts centre with a focus on wellbeing? We’d love to hear from you.
Check out the link below to find the recruitment pack and more information about the role and the application process. Deadline for applications is Monday 5th January.
Ayoka needs volunteers who want to support a community shop that funds local projects. You can give a few hours a week to help on the shop floor, sort donations or assist our fabulous customers. You will learn useful skills and meet people who care about the same aims. If you'd like to get involved, you can visit the Ayoka page to learn more about our mission and get in touch with Nigel, Ayoka's manager.
We've made some tweaks to the focus of this session after hearing from you! The Vinyasa Flow class is the best way to get a mid-week energy boost. It suits newcomers and those who practise often, as you move at your own pace, build strength and settle your focus with steady breath. Options are always available, so you can meet yourself exactly as you are each time you step onto the mat. The perfect way to kickstart your new year's resolutions!
Join the SMH Book Club! We meet once a month and welcome all, from people wanting to start reading for fun to seasoned bookworms. Next Monday, we will be sharing thoughts on Barry Unsworth's Morality Play. Come and join us at the Anson Room.
Routes' Inclusive Leadership Training has launched! For years, this training has been a cornerstone of our mentoring programme, exclusively working with women leaders across various professional sectors. Now we're opening it up to everyone to widen accessibility to leadership development as a standalone offering.
