We're closing during Easter weekend. Don't miss out!

26th March 2026

As we approach the Easter weekend, we wanted to let you know that our office, Ayoka and The Gallery Cafe will be closed during the four-day weekend. We hope it offers a moment to slow down and enjoy the long weekend. We look forward to welcoming you back again on Tuesday 7th April at our usual hours.

Before we take this short break, we warmly invite you to visit our cafe and experience the final days of our current exhibition, which brings together thoughtful and engaging work exploring themes of identity, community and everyday life. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend some time with the artwork and enjoy the space's unique atmosphere alongside a cup of coffee or a meal. If you have been meaning to come by, this is the perfect time and we would love to see you.

Check out our What's on page and read on to find out what's coming up!

This class is for anyone who wishes to practise gently and relax deeply. We begin with calming meditation and gentle breath-led movement to release physical tension before transitioning into some restorative postures and relaxation infused with the healing energy of sound.

This women-only retreat offers a structured, supportive space for women to process and release grief and loss through the body. Grief is not only emotional; it is stored physically and neurologically. When unexpressed, it can show up as tension, fatigue, numbness, anxiety, or a sense of being “stuck.”

Vibration Station is a live exploration of dub - the bass-driven studio practice that reshaped modern dance music and sound system culture.

Dive into the world of Collegiate Shag - the swift footed swing dance that set the 1920s on fire! Learn to dance fast without losing your cool with our expert teaching team and friendly regulars.

Using the routes from Bethnal Green station that criss-cross to St Margaret's House, Rebecca Wilson (our current Artist in Residence) explored the different paths to the same destination, focusing on chosen pause points along the way.

Additionally, on Saturday 25th April, join Rebecca for a guided walk and mini book-making workshop as part of her exhibition.

Don’t miss the private view of KEYSTONE SPECIES today, from 6.30 to 8.30 pm at Proposition Studios in Bethnal Green, 279 Cambridge Heath Road. This new exhibition explores the idea of keystone species, organisms that have a disproportionately large impact on their ecosystems, supporting far more life than would be possible without them.
