Experience our Repair Cafe and other exciting events

23rd April 2026

There is plenty happening at St Margaret’s House this week and we would love you to be part of it. Our programme brings together creative activities, wellbeing sessions and community events, offering simple ways to spend time with others, learn something new or just take a break in a welcoming space.

One event we are especially looking forward to is our upcoming Repair Cafe, a relaxed and practical session where you can bring along items that need fixing and get support from our brilliant volunteers. You can mend clothes while learning useful skills, such as sewing on buttons or repairing small holes. There will also be help available for small electrical appliances and IT equipment, with advice on how to fix or improve them. This month, we are very pleased to also welcome Tower Hamlets Wheelers, who will be offering small bike repairs in the outdoor area. It is a great opportunity to care for what you already have, learn new skills and spend time with others.

We’re excited to be hosting a monthly D/deaf Cafe - an inclusive, integrated space where people can come together to have conversations using BSL, and enjoy a presentation by a D/deaf professional or someone working to support the D/deaf Community. This event is open to you whether BSL is your first language, you are learning, or you want to build your awareness of D/deaf communication. From May, these meetings will take place on the first Friday of each month.

If you haven’t written creatively before but always wanted to, or if you haven’t written for some time and want to kick-start your practice, then this low-cost, intensive course is for you.
